Service Policy
At His Daughter’s Doula, I understand that life circumstances can change. To provide clarity and fairness, please review the following terms regarding refund and service policies.
REFUNDS:
When you hire me as your doula, I am committed to providing you with extensive support through informational prepping for birth and postpartum. Also, I block out 5 weeks (37-42 weeks of gestation) to be on call for your birth. For these two reasons, I do not offer full refunds. I do understand that unexpected events happen, and on a case-by-case basis, we can discuss scheduling additional postpartum support in lieu of a refund. Here are some events that would qualify:
- If my failure to attend your birth is due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control
- Unexpected rapid labor
- failure to notify me that labor started
- failure to contact me in time to arrive at the birth
SERVICE:
- The full fee of $2,500 can be submitted upon contract signing
- A nonrefundable retainer of $500 is required to secure your spot for the 5-week “birth window” (37-42 weeks), and to begin scheduling prenatal birth prep. After the retainer is secured, we will discuss a payment schedule, and the final payment is due on or before 37 weeks.
- I am on call to attend your birth beginning at 37 weeks.
- We will have 2-4 prenatal visits, which can be a combination of in-person or virtual, based on desire or need.
- I provide support via email, text, and phone: discussing any concerns or desires you may have about your pregnancy, upcoming birth, and postpartum.
- When you believe you are in labor, you will call me and I will plan to meet you within 60-90 minutes, if not sooner, from the time you request my presence, at your laboring location.
- I will remain with you throughout your labor and up to two hours after the birth, including a change of location.
- If, for some reason, I am unable to attend your birth, arrangements for a backup doula will be provided in advance. There is no additional fee or orchestration on your part for the backup doula.
- Within the first two weeks of postpartum (usually 5-7 days), we will schedule our final in-person visit to discuss your birth experience, any questions you may have, and provide any needed resources or support.
